A Few Good Men
Right now we’re not looking for any new sopranos, altos or female tenors (our tenor section predominantly consists of tenoritas). However, we’re always looking for a few good men! So if you’re male, have an active singing life, hold harmonies and rhythms confidently and would like to join, please contact us for an audition. In your message, tell us a little bit about yourself and your singing and other musical experience.
Although we’re not auditioning women at the moment, section numbers do fluctuate and there will come a point where we will be auditioning again. If you want to be on the waiting list, please do contact us and tell us about yourself.
The Commitments
We rehearse every Thursday night from 7 to 9 pm in one of the halls of the Presbyterian Church St Stephens on 65 Jervois Road in Ponsonby. Our schedule follows school term times, meaning that we have four 9-11 week terms each year. The term fee is based on the number of weeks in the term, at $13.50 per week. We do ask for our members to be motivated and committed and to attend rehearsal every week (within reason).
Outside our regular rehearsals we do about four or five gigs a year (and hope to do more than that!), which occasionally require additional rehearsals on weekends.
